Tall Black Guy
Birthed from humble beginnings in Detroit and homegrown on a diet of Motown, jazz and early hip-hop. Tall Black Guy relocated to Illinois suburbia, where for over a decade he has studied some of hip-hop’s greatest producers like; Dj Premier, J-Dilla, Madlib, Pete Rock, and Timberland. Whilst he was perfecting his music production skills and spending long nights honing his craft, local emcees and good friends of his; Dee Jackson, Will and Jamal spotted his immerging talent and between them, they formed; Pathfinders and the magnificent 80’s Babies crew. Showcasing not only their vocal talents, but also Tall Black’s timeless, eclectic jazz and soul saturated beats. They have since then played in over fifty shows in some of Chicago’s renowned venues and locations.
